Textile workshops in Educational Settings
Delilah And The Moon offer workshops in educational settings from schools to colleges. Working alongside the curriculum or as a separate project entirely we work with students to create a stunning piece of original textile art work. Suitable for students from Key Stage 1 upwards we plan and run the entire project including provision of all equipment and materials. Students of all abilities are encouraged to explore ideas using multimedia and sewing techniques and will learn a variety of skills, working independently and as a team to create a finished project.

KS2 World War 2 Topic
Following their study of WW2 a Year 6 class worked together in small groups to create a giant wall hanging depicting a timeline of World War 2 key events. Photos, pictures, informative writing and textiles were sewn together to create this interactive multimedia piece.
Futuristic Uniform
The children planned their designs on paper, created a mood board of ideas, textiles and functionality before deconstructing their existing school uniform and re-designing then sewing their new futuristic uniform.
Lest We Forget
KS2 children all designed a fabric poppy which they cut, pinned and sewed on to individual calico squares. These were put together as a collection to produce a wall hanging which was displayed in the local church.
Stronger Together
A whole school project - over several full day sessions we worked with pupils from all classes to produce an enormous banner and individual posters incorporating the school logo and school values. This is hung in the school hall for everyone to see.
WW2 Posters
A collective class project. Researching WW2 posters and the use of them to encourage a countrywide effort to 'do your bit' the children recreated their favourites using textiles. The children worked in small groups to produce five A3 size posters.
The Titanic
A year 6 project - working in pairs and small groups to produce an interactive multimedia folder detailing the journey and story of The Titanic. From boarding passes to fashion and dress and a large pull out textile centre fold of The Titanic, another example of an interactive multimedia piece of work displayed as a ring bound 'book'.
